OUR STORY

We were inspired to celebrate real food, our own food, by a TV series called "River Cottage" that takes place in the farm country of England. We figured if a chef from a big city could downsize and try to make a living on less than an acre of land we should be able to, at the least, grow our own 'veg'.

That was the birth of a goal to make the land pay for itself. Afterall, we have an ideal setting --- the soil is good, the right amount of slope to the land, close to water, south facing, and protected from north winds. One of us grew up on a farm the other one likes to cook. We both like hard work, being outside, sunshine, and the most important thing - we both appreciate the value of fresh and local food. Food, we know, that has had a short journey to the table, no chemicals added, not adulterated in any way, it's real food!! The way food was intended. In our excitement of celebrating real food we offered the bountiful harvest to friends, family, and also began growing a loyal customer base.
